Window Vistas (2014)

Group project with Ramsey Nasser, Ivan Safrin, and Heather Kelley

Summary

Window Vistas is a game made during the Train Jam 2014 on the Amtrak Zephyr train. During this 52 hours adventure from Chicago to San Francisco for the Game Developer's Conference, we were inspired by the ever-changing scenery we saw through the window. We rode through Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada and California. Players can enjoy the vistas and take photos from our window too.

Technology

The procedurally generated environment is built on the Polycode framework. I was responsible for the circuit built using the Arduino-based FLORA microcontroller and a photodiode, microphone and piezo vibration sensor. The sounds, vibrations and light flickering in the cabin influenced the game environment.
